Google Merchant Center tools

Read feed health, disapprovals, account issues, and Shopping reports on every plan. The separate guided customLabel4 pilot requires operator enrollment for one selected account and one registered product. Tool visibility does not enable writes.

Before you begin

Connect the relevant Google Merchant Center account through Accounts, then connect your AI assistant. Confirm the target account and date range before querying data or making changes.

This is the generated catalog. The tools shown in your AI assistant depend on your connected accounts, active workspace, role, write permissions, enabled features and the client's supported tool surface. A listed tool is not a promise that it is enabled in every workspace. See accounts, workspace access and troubleshooting.

Available tools

6 tools.

ToolAccessPurpose
merchant_get_reportReadRun a validated Merchant Center report preset.
merchant_list_accountsReadList Google Merchant Center accounts you can access.
merchant_prepare_writesWritePreview one explicitly selected product in an operator-enrolled own API source.
merchant_queryReadRead Merchant Center entities polymorphically.
merchant_revert_productWriteRemove only our owned single-label input using a confirmed revert preview.
merchant_update_productWriteApply the exact latest customLabel4 preview after the user confirms its token.

Write tools can change account settings, campaigns or workspace content. Confirm the target and proposed changes before running them.

Label writes require a guided session and separate operator enrollment. Each apply and revert needs your own preview-token confirmation. Read the merchant label pilot for steps and stop conditions.

Using these tools

Start by asking which accounts are connected. Then request a read-only report or inspection for one account before making a change.

Limitations and notes

  • General access is for reads. Only an operator-enrolled pilot can change customLabel4 on one registered product through its existing, exclusively managed supplemental source
  • Every apply and revert needs its own preview and your explicit token confirmation. Pending means accepted, not processed; use label_operation reads to check processing
  • No batch updates, general product corrections, prices, stock, titles, primary-source changes, or feed-rule management
  • When authorization expires, the pilot needs guided Google reauthorization with the same workspace, connection owner, and Google identity. Automatic account-token renewal does not renew the authorization used by this label flow
  • UNKNOWN stops further changes, including revert. Do not retry or delete manually; contact support. Revert deletes only our own single-label input and leaves the source and link in place
  • Reports are limited to three validated presets (product_performance, disapproval_impact, clicks_without_conversions); there is no raw query mode
  • Conversions and conversion value only cover free (organic Shopping) traffic; paid conversions live in Google Ads
  • No cost metric exists in the Merchant API; join with Google Ads for spend impact
  • Account discovery lists one level of sub-accounts and is cached for 24 hours
