How to Connect TikTok Ads to Claude

Analyze video performance, Spark Ads, and audience engagement on TikTok with AI assistance.

TikTok is no longer just a place for dance challenges. It is a serious advertising platform — and for many brands, it delivers the cheapest reach and most engaged audiences of any social network. But TikTok advertising has its own rhythm. Creatives fatigue 4x faster than on Meta. Video performance depends heavily on the first 2 seconds. And the gap between Spark Ads (boosted organic content) and traditional in-feed ads can be massive.

The TikTok Ads Manager gives you the basics, but getting deeper insights — like which video hooks drive the best completion rates, or which audiences engage but do not convert — means exporting data and doing manual analysis. For a platform where creative refreshes happen weekly, that is too slow.

By connecting TikTok Ads to Claude through MCP (Model Context Protocol), Claude gets direct access to your TikTok campaigns, ad groups, ads, video performance metrics, audience data, and creative assets. Ask about completion rates, Spark Ads vs in-feed performance, audience engagement patterns, or creative fatigue signals — all in natural conversation.

This guide takes about 2 minutes. You will need the Ad Superpowers Pro plan (TikTok Ads is a Pro feature at €79/month) and Claude Desktop.

The Old Way

Open TikTok Ads Manager. Check campaign overview. Export to CSV for video-level analysis. Open spreadsheet. Try to figure out which creatives are fatiguing. Repeat in 4 days because TikTok moves fast.

The New Way

Open Claude. Ask "Which video ads show signs of creative fatigue — declining CTR with rising frequency?" Get instant results with recommendations for which creatives to refresh.

What You Need

  • A TikTok Ads account with active campaigns
  • Claude Desktop installed (macOS or Windows) — download from claude.ai/download
  • Ad Superpowers Pro plan — TikTok Ads is a Pro feature

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Sign up for Ad Superpowers Pro

Go to app.adsuperpowers.ai and create your account. TikTok Ads requires the Pro plan at €79/month, which includes all 8 supported platforms with up to 25 connected accounts. The Pro plan also covers Meta, Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, LinkedIn, Shopify, and Klaviyo.

Check our pricing page for the founding member discount — available to the first 100 users.
2

Connect your TikTok Ads account

In the Ad Superpowers dashboard, click "Connect Platform" and select TikTok Ads. You will be redirected to TikTok to authorize access. Grant the requested permissions — we request read access to your advertising data, campaigns, and creative assets.

If you manage multiple advertiser accounts, select all the ones you want to analyze. They will all be accessible through a single MCP connection.
3

Copy your MCP server URL

Navigate to Settings in the dashboard and copy your MCP server URL: https://mcp.adsuperpowers.ai/v1. Generate an API key under "API Keys" on the same page. If you already have an API key from connecting another platform, the same key works here.

4

Add the MCP server to Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop, go to Settings, and navigate to "Connectors". Click "Add Custom MCP" and paste the URL: https://mcp.adsuperpowers.ai/v1. Add your API key as a Bearer token. If Ad Superpowers is already configured in Claude Desktop, you do not need to add it again — TikTok tools appear automatically.

You can also configure it via the JSON config file. See our setup docs for details.
5

Ask about your TikTok performance

Restart Claude Desktop if this is a new MCP connection. Test with: "Show me my TikTok ad accounts." If your accounts appear, the connection works. Now try something useful: "How did my TikTok campaigns perform this week? Which videos drove the most engagement?"

Claude has access to 6 TikTok Ads tools: listing advertisers, querying campaigns/ad groups/ads, getting performance reports, audience analysis, creative asset retrieval, and interest/behavior targeting categories.

Why TikTok Ads + AI is essential

TikTok advertising moves at a different speed than other platforms. On Meta, a creative might perform well for 10-14 days before fatiguing. On TikTok, that window is just 4-7 days. This means you are making creative decisions 2-4x more frequently, and each decision matters.

The TikTok Ads Manager interface is functional but limited for the kind of rapid analysis this pace demands. Getting a cross-cutting view — like "which audiences are engaging with which creative styles" — requires exports and manual work.

Claude changes this dynamic. By connecting your TikTok data through Ad Superpowers, you can ask complex, multi-dimensional questions and get instant answers. This is especially valuable for:

Creative fatigue detection: The number one optimization lever on TikTok. Ask Claude to identify ads with declining engagement metrics (CTR dropping, frequency rising) so you can refresh creatives before they burn out. Our cookbook has prompt templates specifically for TikTok fatigue analysis.

Spark Ads analysis: Spark Ads (where you boost organic TikTok content) often outperform traditional in-feed ads by 30-50% on engagement metrics. Ask Claude to compare your Spark Ads performance to regular ads and quantify the difference.

Hook effectiveness: The first 2 seconds of a TikTok video determine whether someone watches or scrolls. Claude can analyze video view metrics to identify which hooks perform best — helping you understand what grabs attention.

If you are spending €1,000/month or more on TikTok (the minimum for meaningful testing), the time saved on analysis and the speed of optimization decisions more than justify the Pro plan cost.

What data can Claude access from TikTok Ads?

With TikTok Ads connected, Claude has access to the full depth of your advertising data:

Campaign-level data: objective (traffic, conversions, app installs, reach, video views), budget, schedule, status, bid strategy, and all performance metrics.

Ad group-level data: targeting (age, gender, interests, behaviors, custom audiences, lookalike audiences), placement (TikTok, Pangle, automatic), optimization goal, and performance breakdowns.

Ad-level data: creative format (video, image, carousel), video thumbnails, ad copy, call-to-action, and individual ad performance including video-specific metrics.

Video metrics: total views, average watch time, video completion rate (2s, 6s, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%), engagement rate, likes, comments, shares. These metrics are unique to video platforms and critical for optimization.

Audience insights: performance by age, gender, and placement. Understand which demographics engage most with your content.

Creative assets: retrieve information about your video and image creatives, including performance data. See which creative styles resonate with your audience.

Interest and behavior categories: browse TikTok's targeting taxonomy to discover new audience segments worth testing.

The real power: Claude can cross-reference these dimensions instantly. "Which audience segments have high completion rates but low conversion rates?" — a question that reveals engagement without intent — is trivial for Claude but painful to answer manually.

TikTok-specific optimization with Claude

TikTok is not Meta, and the optimization strategies are different. Here is how marketers use Claude specifically for TikTok:

Creative rotation planning: Because TikTok creatives fatigue in 4-7 days (versus 10-14 on Meta), you need a steady pipeline of fresh content. Ask Claude to analyze your creative lifecycle — when do new ads peak, when do they start declining, and how many new creatives do you need per week to maintain performance?

Spark Ads vs standard ads: Many advertisers run both Spark Ads (boosted organic posts) and traditional in-feed ads. Ask Claude to compare the two formats across your campaigns. Spark Ads typically win on engagement but standard ads can offer more creative control. See our integrations page for details on what TikTok data is available.

Video length optimization: TikTok supports 5-second to 60-second ads. Ask Claude to analyze your video performance by duration to find your sweet spot. Many advertisers find that 9-15 second videos outperform longer ones on cost per conversion.

Audience discovery: TikTok's interest and behavior targeting is different from Meta's. Use Claude to explore available targeting categories and identify new audience segments based on what has worked in your existing campaigns.

Cross-platform comparison: If you are running video ads on both TikTok and Meta (Instagram Reels, Facebook Video), ask Claude to compare performance across platforms. Which platform delivers cheaper video views? Which drives more conversions? The answer often differs by audience and creative style.

Daily monitoring: TikTok's fast-moving nature means daily performance checks are more important than on other platforms. Ask Claude for a morning briefing that covers spend, engagement, and any campaigns showing early fatigue signals.

Troubleshooting

If Claude cannot access your TikTok Ads data:

1. Verify your Pro plan is active. TikTok Ads requires Ad Superpowers Pro (€79/month). 2. Make sure your TikTok connection is active in the Ad Superpowers dashboard. Reconnect if it shows "disconnected". 3. Check your API key. You can regenerate it under Settings in the dashboard. 4. Restart Claude Desktop after adding or modifying the MCP server configuration. 5. Test with a simple query: "Show me my TikTok ad accounts." If this works, the connection is fine. 6. If you see accounts but queries return empty results, verify the account has campaigns with spend in the date range you are querying.

TikTok API specifics: TikTok's reporting API has some unique behaviors. Data can be delayed by up to 24 hours for some metrics, and conversion attribution windows may differ from what you see in the native dashboard depending on your attribution settings. If numbers do not match exactly, this is usually the reason.

Note on creative assets: When asking about video or image creatives, Claude returns creative metadata and performance data. Actual video files are not transferred — Claude analyzes the performance metrics associated with each creative.
