How to Connect LinkedIn Ads to Claude

Analyze your B2B campaigns, lead gen performance, and professional targeting with AI.

LinkedIn Ads is the go-to platform for B2B marketing. No other ad network lets you target by job title, company size, industry, or seniority with the same precision. But that precision comes at a price — literally. CPCs on LinkedIn are 3-5x higher than Meta or Google, which means every dollar of wasted spend hurts more.

The LinkedIn Campaign Manager interface does not make things easier. Its analytics are limited compared to other platforms, custom reporting is clunky, and getting a simple answer like "Which job titles are converting at an acceptable cost per lead?" requires multiple clicks and mental math.

By connecting LinkedIn Ads to Claude through MCP (Model Context Protocol), you turn Claude into your B2B advertising analyst. It has direct access to your campaigns, ad groups, ads, audience insights, and performance data — all queryable through natural conversation. Ask about cost per lead, lead quality by job title, or how Sponsored Content compares to Message Ads. Get answers in seconds.

This guide takes about 2 minutes to set up. You will need the Ad Superpowers Pro plan (LinkedIn Ads is a Pro feature at €79/month) and Claude Desktop.

The Old Way

Open LinkedIn Campaign Manager. Click into a campaign. Stare at the limited chart. Export to CSV. Open spreadsheet. Try to calculate cost per lead by audience segment. Give up and look at totals instead.

The New Way

Open Claude. Ask "What is my cost per lead by job title across all campaigns?" Get a ranked table with recommendations in 10 seconds.

What You Need

  • A LinkedIn Ads account with active campaigns
  • Claude Desktop installed (macOS or Windows) — download from claude.ai/download
  • Ad Superpowers Pro plan — LinkedIn Ads is a Pro feature

Step-by-Step Setup

1

Sign up for Ad Superpowers Pro

Go to app.adsuperpowers.ai and create your account. LinkedIn Ads requires the Pro plan at €79/month, which gives you access to all 8 supported platforms with up to 25 connected accounts. You can start with a different plan and upgrade later if you want to try the free platforms first.

The Pro plan includes Meta Ads, Google Ads, GA4, Google Search Console, LinkedIn, TikTok, Shopify, and Klaviyo. Check our pricing page for the founding member discount.
2

Connect your LinkedIn Ads account

In the Ad Superpowers dashboard, click "Connect Platform" and select LinkedIn Ads. You will be redirected to LinkedIn to authorize access. Grant the requested permissions — we request read-only access to your advertising data. Select the ad accounts you want to analyze.

If you manage multiple LinkedIn ad accounts (for different clients or business units), all connected accounts become available through a single MCP connection.
3

Copy your MCP server URL

Navigate to Settings in the dashboard and copy your MCP server URL: https://mcp.adsuperpowers.ai/v1. Generate an API key under "API Keys" on the same page. If you already have an API key from a previous platform setup, the same key works for all platforms.

4

Add the MCP server to Claude Desktop

Open Claude Desktop, go to Settings, and navigate to "Connectors". Click "Add Custom MCP" and paste the URL: https://mcp.adsuperpowers.ai/v1. Add your API key as a Bearer token. If you have already added Ad Superpowers for another platform, you do not need to add it again — LinkedIn tools are automatically available.

You can also edit the config file directly. See our setup docs for the exact JSON format.
5

Run your first B2B query

Restart Claude Desktop if this is a new MCP connection. Start with: "Show me my LinkedIn ad accounts" to verify the connection. Then try something actionable: "What is my cost per lead across all campaigns this month, ranked from lowest to highest?"

Claude has access to 4 LinkedIn Ads tools: listing ad accounts, querying campaigns and ads, getting analytics with demographic breakdowns, and retrieving creative content.

Why LinkedIn Ads needs AI more than any other platform

LinkedIn advertising is expensive. There is no getting around it. Average CPCs range from €5-12 for Sponsored Content and can hit €30+ for Message Ads. At those prices, optimization is not optional — it is survival.

The challenge is that LinkedIn Campaign Manager gives you fewer analytics tools than Meta or Google. The reporting interface is basic, custom breakdowns are limited, and there is no equivalent to Meta's detailed audience insights or Google's GAQL query language.

This is exactly where Claude adds the most value. By connecting your LinkedIn Ads data through Ad Superpowers, Claude can analyze campaign performance, compare ad formats, identify which audience segments convert at acceptable costs, and flag wasteful spend — all through conversation.

For B2B marketers spending €2,000/month or more on LinkedIn (the minimum for most meaningful campaigns), even a 10% efficiency improvement from better optimization more than covers the cost of the Pro plan. Check our pricing page for details.

The combination is especially powerful if you are also running ads on other platforms. Ask Claude to compare your LinkedIn CPL to your Google Ads CPL, or your LinkedIn audience quality to Meta's — something impossible within LinkedIn Campaign Manager alone.

What data can Claude access from LinkedIn Ads?

With LinkedIn Ads connected, Claude can query your full advertising data:

Campaign-level data: status, objective (lead generation, website visits, brand awareness, engagement), budget, schedule, bid strategy, and all performance metrics — impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, conversions, cost per conversion, and spend.

Ad group-level data: targeting criteria (job titles, industries, company sizes, seniority levels, skills, groups), placement, bid amounts, and performance breakdowns per ad group.

Ad-level data: creative format (single image, carousel, video, text ad, message ad), copy, and individual ad performance. See which specific ads drive results and which ones underperform.

Analytics breakdowns: performance sliced by campaign, time period, and conversion type. Understand trends over time and identify when performance shifted.

Lead gen metrics: if you use LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms, Claude can see form submission rates, cost per lead, and conversion data — the metrics that matter most for B2B.

The key advantage over Campaign Manager: Claude can combine these dimensions in ways the native interface does not support. "Show me campaigns targeting C-suite executives that have a cost per lead under €50" is a single question for Claude but would require manual filtering and spreadsheet work in Campaign Manager.

B2B optimization strategies with Claude

Here is how B2B marketers use LinkedIn Ads + Claude to get better results:

Cost per lead optimization: The most important metric in B2B advertising. Ask Claude to rank all your campaigns by CPL, then drill into the winners to understand what makes them work — targeting, creative format, offer, or time of day.

Audience segment analysis: LinkedIn's targeting is its superpower. Ask Claude which job titles, industries, or company sizes deliver leads at the best cost. This helps you double down on what works and cut what does not.

Ad format comparison: Sponsored Content, Message Ads, Dynamic Ads, and Text Ads all perform differently. Ask Claude to compare formats across your campaigns so you know where to allocate budget.

Funnel alignment: B2B sales cycles are long. Use Claude to analyze top-of-funnel metrics (impressions, CTR) alongside bottom-of-funnel metrics (leads, cost per lead) to understand which campaigns move people through the funnel.

Cross-platform comparison: If you run ads on both LinkedIn and Meta (common for B2B companies targeting professional audiences), ask Claude to compare lead quality and cost across platforms. You might find Meta drives cheaper leads while LinkedIn drives higher-quality ones — or vice versa. See our integrations page for connecting additional platforms.

Budget allocation: Ask Claude "I have €5,000 per month. Based on the last 90 days of data, how should I redistribute my LinkedIn budget across campaigns?" Get data-driven recommendations rather than gut-feel budgeting.

Troubleshooting

If Claude cannot access your LinkedIn Ads data:

1. Verify your Pro plan is active. LinkedIn Ads requires Ad Superpowers Pro (€79/month). You can check your plan status in the dashboard. 2. Make sure your LinkedIn connection is active. Go to the Ad Superpowers dashboard and check the LinkedIn Ads status. Reconnect if it shows "disconnected". 3. Check your API key. You can regenerate it under Settings in the dashboard. 4. Restart Claude Desktop after adding or modifying the MCP server. 5. Test with a simple query first: "Show me my LinkedIn ad accounts." If this works, the connection is fine. 6. If you see accounts but data queries return empty results, make sure the account has active campaigns with spend in the queried date range.

LinkedIn API specifics to keep in mind: LinkedIn's reporting API can have a delay of up to 24 hours for some metrics. If yesterday's numbers look incomplete, try querying data from 2 days ago. Also, LinkedIn aggregates some metrics differently than other platforms — Claude can help explain discrepancies.
