# Connect Claude Code.

Source: https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/setup/claude-code

Add Ad Superpowers to Claude Code over HTTP, sign in with OAuth and verify a read-only marketing query.

Use Ad Superpowers from a Claude Code terminal session to read your advertising data. The direct connection uses OAuth and does not require a plugin or API key.

## Before you begin

- Claude Code installed and signed in. Use [Anthropic's setup guide](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/setup) if needed.
- An [Ad Superpowers account](https://adsuperpowers.ai/signup) with an active trial or paid access; see [pricing](https://adsuperpowers.ai/pricing).
- A platform connected in your intended workspace under [Integrations](https://adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard/integrations).

## 1. Add the server

First run `/mcp` inside Claude Code. An existing Ad Superpowers connector from your active claude.ai subscription login may already be listed. If it is connected, continue to the result check.

Otherwise run this command in your terminal:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user ad-superpowers \
  https://mcp.adsuperpowers.ai/v1
```

`--scope user` makes the connection available across your projects. See [Claude Code's MCP reference](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/mcp) for configuration scopes.

## 2. Sign in with OAuth

Start Claude Code:

```bash
claude
```

Run `/mcp`, select **ad-superpowers** and follow the browser sign-in. On the Ad Superpowers consent screen, select the workspace containing your connected platform and approve access.

Keep credentials out of chat messages. This OAuth setup needs no API key.

## 3. Check the result

Check the connection in `/mcp`. For a server added with the command above, you can also inspect its status from your terminal:

```bash
claude mcp list
```

Then ask Claude Code:

```text
Use Ad Superpowers to show my connected workspace and list the
advertising accounts I can access. Include account names and IDs.
Do not change anything.
```

Confirm the workspace and expected account, then ask:

```text
For [account name and ID], show campaign spend for the last 7 days.
Include the date range and currency. Do not change any campaigns.
```

Verify the account, date range and currency against the platform. A connected status alone does not prove access to the account you need.

## Optional plugin

The [published Ad Superpowers plugin](https://github.com/Ad-Superpowers/ad-superpowers-plugin) bundles additional skills, commands and agents. Follow its installation instructions if you want those features. It also configures the MCP server, so check `/mcp` before adding another copy.

## If something goes wrong

- **`claude` is not found:** complete [Claude Code installation](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/setup), reopen the terminal and try again.
- **Authentication required:** select the server in `/mcp` and finish browser sign-in. For a connector inherited from claude.ai, reconnect on [Claude's connectors page](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors).
- **A claude.ai connector is missing:** run `/status` to check the active Claude login. Otherwise use the direct server setup above, subject to your organization's MCP policy.
- **Wrong workspace or missing accounts:** authorize again for the intended workspace, then check its [Integrations](https://adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard/integrations) and your account permissions. Changing the dashboard workspace does not retarget this connection.
- **Trial expired or usage limit reached:** check your workspace's access and usage in the [dashboard](https://adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard). Reinstalling Claude Code does not change Ad Superpowers limits.
