# Work with the right accounts.

Source: https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/accounts

Connect a platform, select accounts and add client context without confusing it with team permissions.

## Connect in the right workspace

Choose your workspace in the [dashboard](https://app.adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard) before opening [Integrations](https://app.adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard/integrations). Connect the platform with a login that already has access to the accounts you need. Complete the consent screen, return to Integrations and check the connection status.

A connection belongs to that workspace. A colleague can use a shared connection with their own Ad Superpowers identity when their role and account access allow it. They do not need to reconnect the same platform themselves. Follow [team setup](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/workspaces#team-permissions) before sharing access.

## Available and selected accounts

An available account is one the platform connection can discover. A selected account is enabled for use through that connection. The account limit and your access determine which accounts can be used; discovering an account does not by itself activate it.

In Integrations, open the platform's accounts and select the ones you intend to use. Check the account name and platform ID, especially when several accounts have similar names. Your dashboard shows the current account allowance for the workspace.

Selection, team assignment and platform permission are separate controls. A member can reach assigned accounts and their own selected connections within the workspace. Owner and admin access is broader. In particular, deselecting a connection is not a substitute for removing a member's assignment. See [roles and the current delay after assignment changes](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/workspaces#roles).

## Check what your assistant can use

Ask your connected assistant:

```text
Use workspace_info to show my active workspace, role and write permission.
List the [platform] accounts I can access, including their IDs.
Do not change anything.
```

Confirm the workspace and exact account ID before requesting a report. Then name the account, period and metrics in your request. A successful account listing proves discovery; a small report also checks that the connection can read that account's data.

If the dashboard shows the right accounts but the assistant does not, compare the assistant's workspace with the dashboard. Changing the dashboard selector does not move an existing connector to another workspace. [Reconnect for the intended workspace](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/workspaces#choose-your-workspace) if necessary.

## Add client context

A client profile groups business context: the client's goals, budgets, channels, linked account IDs and points that need attention. Manage profiles in [Clients](https://app.adsuperpowers.ai/dashboard/clients). Link the platform accounts that belong to that client and keep the profile current.

Profiles belong to the workspace and can be read by its members. A profile's manager is the person responsible for that client; assigning a manager or linking an account does not grant or restrict platform account access. Use **Settings → Team → Account Access** for member permissions. A profile is not a separate private workspace.

The client profile gives the assistant context; each platform request still uses an account ID. Make that choice explicit:

```text
Show my active workspace, then load the client profile for [client name].
List its linked account IDs and check which I can access.
For [chosen account ID], report spend and conversions for [date range].
State the workspace, client, account, dates and currency in the answer.
Do not change anything.
```

If several profiles link the same account, identify the intended profile instead of asking the assistant to guess. Reading a profile does not switch workspace or expand your account permissions. See the [client tool reference](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/tools/clients) for profile lookup fields.

## Restore missing access

Check the workspace first, then account selection, member assignments and the original platform login's permissions. If the connection needs authorization, the person who connected it should reconnect in the same workspace. A colleague's personal connection in another workspace does not repair the shared connection.

After repair, repeat the account listing and a small read request. For an assignment changed recently, allow for the [account-list cache limitation](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/workspaces#assignment-changes); starting a new conversation does not guarantee a refresh. Use [troubleshooting](https://adsuperpowers.ai/docs/troubleshooting#missing-accounts) if the expected account is still missing.
